Brian passed away sadly on Jan 29 due to a heart attack, it was very sudden and he would have felt no pain.
Brian adored his three grandchildren Esme, Ashton and Scilly, they loved their Grandpa dearly and shall miss him very much, he was also a well respected member of the community and was indeed a member of the Great Barr Hotel Beer Drinkers Club, it has been noted that the takings have gone down since he has been gone lol.
Brian shall be sorely missed by his good friends and neighbours Ted&Rose and a few more special friends including Carol,Julie,Jo,Graham,
Baz,Heather,Pete,Richard,Andy,Chris,Russ,Michelle,Lyn&Ben.
Bri you shall never be forgottten x
☜♡☞ The Wings That Fly Us Home ☜♡☞
There are many ways of being in this circle we call life
A wise man seeks an answer, burns his candle through the night
Is a jewel just a pebble that found a way to shine
Is a hero’s blood more righteous than a hobo’s sip of wine
☀
Did I speak to you one morning on some distant world away
Did you save me from an arrow, did you lay me in a grave
Were we brothers on a journey, did you teach me how to run
Were we broken by the waters, did I lie you in the sun
☀
I dreamed you were a prophet in a meadow
I dreamed I was a mountain in the wind
I dreamed you knelt and touched me with a flower
I awoke with this: a flower in my hand
☀
I know that love is seeing all the infinite in one
In the brotherhood of creatures; who the father, who the son
The vision of your goodness will sustain me through the cold
Take my hand now to remember when you find yourself alone
☀
And the spirit fills the darkness of the heavens
It fills the endless yearning of the soul
It lives within a star too far to dream of
It lives within each part and is the whole
☀
It’s the fire and the wings that fly us home
Fly us home, fly us home.
~ Words by Joe Henry, music by John Denver

All finite things reveal infinitude:
The mountain with its singular bright shade
Like the blue shine on freshly frozen snow,
The after-light upon ice-burdened pines;
Odor of basswood upon a mountain slope,
A scene beloved of bees;
Silence of water above a sunken tree:
The pure serene of memory of one man,--
A ripple widening from a single stone
Winding around the waters of the world…ღ♥ღ

~ Winter Snow ~
This is the time of wonder,
The season of the star...
Enraptured by its splendor,
Our thoughts go winging afar
Across the memories and miles,
Like angel melody,
Till every face is wreathed in smiles...
Hearts hold tranquillity.
•*• •*• •*•
And as the snow falls, pure and white
On roof and street and hill,
Joy settles in our hearts tonight,
Glad tidings of goodwill,
On homes and hearth fires, peace descends,
And as the candles glow,
Flames of faith are kindled...
Love shines across the snow.

It is eternity now; I am in the midst of it.
It is about me in the sunshine;
I am in it, as the butterfly in the light-laden air.
Nothing has to come; it is now.
Now is eternity; now is immortal life.
~ Richard Jefferies

The little space within the heart is as great as the vast universe.
The heavens and the earth are there,
and the sun and the moon and the stars.
Fire and lightning and winds are there,
and all that now is and all that is not.

*☆* To the Evening Star *☆*
Thou fair-hair’d angel of the evening,
Now, whilst the sun rests on the mountains, light
Thy bright torch of love; thy radiant crown
Put on, and smile upon our evening bed!
Smile on our loves, and while thou drawest the
Blue curtains of the sky, scatter thy silver dew
On every flower that shuts its sweet eyes
In timely sleep. Let thy west wind sleep on
The lake; speak silence with thy glimmering eyes,
And wash the dusk with silver. Soon, full soon,
Dost thou withdraw; then the wolf rages wide,
And the lion glares thro’ the dun forest:
The fleeces of our flocks are cover’d with
Thy sacred dew: protect them with thine influence.
~ William Blake ~

*☆* To the Moon *☆*
Art thou pale for weariness
Of climbing Heaven and gazing on the earth,
Wandering companionless
Among the stars that have a different birth, --
And ever changing, like a joyless eye
That finds no object worth its constancy?
~ Percy Bysshe Shelley ~

• ❤ • Sorrow • ❤ •
O thorn-crowned Sorrow, pitiless and stern,
I sit alone with broken heart, my head
Low bowed, keeping long vigil with my dead.
My soul, unutterably sad, doth yearn
Beyond relief in tears—they only burn
My aching eyelids to fall back unshed
Upon the throbbing brain like molten lead,
Making it frenzied. Shall I ever learn
To face you fearlessly, as by my door
You stand with haunting eyes and death-damp hair,
Through the night-watches, whispering solemnly,
“Behold, I am thy guest forevermore.”
It chills my soul to know that you are there.
Great God, have mercy on my misery!
(Katrina Trask)

EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN
... Faith lights us, even through the grave,
being the Evidence of Things not seen.
And this is the Comfort of the Good,
that the Grave cannot hold them,
and that they live as soon as they die.
For Death is no more than
the Turning of us over from Time to Eternity.
Death then, being the Way and Condition of Life,
we cannot love to live, if we cannot bear to die ...
(William Penn, 1693)

❦ After Great Pain, a Formal Feeling Comes ❦
After great pain, a formal feeling comes—
The Nerves sit ceremonious, like Tombs—
The stiff Heart questions was it He, that bore,
And Yesterday, or Centuries before?
✰...✰
The Feet, mechanical, go round—
Of Ground, or Air, or Ought—
A Wooden way
Regardless grown,
A Quartz contentment, like a stone—
✰...✰
This is the Hour of Lead—
Remembered, if outlived,
As Freezing persons, recollect the Snow—
First—Chill—then Stupor—then the letting go—
(Emily Dickinson)

An old monk was once asked why he cared for ancient graves,
and why he cleaned the stones to preserve the writing carved there.
His reply was simple: “They still have their names. They will
always have their names.”
A life infused with love has consequences that reach beyond time
— ensuring that names, and places, and memories of what was,
still are, and always will be. They are not dead, can never die.
~ Gregory & Suzanne Wolfe

✿ Mutability ✿
The flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow dies;
All that we wish to stay
Tempts and then flies.
What is this world’s delight?
Lightning that mocks the night,
Brief even as bright.
Virtue, how frail it is!
Friendship how rare!
Love, how it sells poor bliss
For proud despair!
But we, though soon they fall,
Survive their joy, and all
Which ours we call.
Whilst skies are blue and bright,
Whilst flowers are gay,
Whilst eyes that change ere night
Make glad the day;
Whilst yet the calm hours creep,
Dream thou—and from thy sleep
Then wake to weep.
- Percy Bysshe Shelley
